iWas Here First..But Does that Matter?

On Saturday, a toddler was taken to hospital after being bitten by a fox, after he pulled it's tail. The three-year-old boy was injured as he played outside at a playground where a fox had made its den for a year or so. The headline read:

"Toddler taken to hospital after fox attack"

The iForgiven Angels are obviously concerned about the health of the child, however, shouldn't this headline actually read:

"Toddler taken to hospital after fox defence"?

There has been much news about the increase of foxes in urban areas and the safety concerns that this brings. The health and safety of the human race is very important, but perhaps we should stop to think about this one.

The land that we are living on (particularly in this area) was inhabited by foxes long before we arrived. We have then created an environment where we leave food and mess that encourages the foxes further. The fox is doing what comes naturally to it, it wasn't an unprovoked attack and if you pulled the tails of the iForgiven Angels, there's a fair chance that the reaction wouldn't be favourable. The nursery that this child attended were fully aware that the fox den was there. It posed no threat so they did nothing. A little pre-thought would have gone a long way here. The nursery could have contacted the RSPCA months ago and they would have moved the fox to a safer location for all at no charge.

How can we now demonise the fox? Here on the iForgiven cloud, we absolutely iForgive this fox. It was provoked and it behaved naturally, which is all that we can expect.

  1. Provocative - but I like that! If you had to choose a filing system with "shame" and "guilt" as two catagories for different classes of forgiveness, which would you file this under? If the fox feels guilty - forgive him! If the 'Boy' feels guilty.. Forgive him too... Now, are there other categories as well as these?
